InAlliance is an agency with many different customers. First and foremost are the participants we serve. Over the years, people with developmental disabilities have changed their expectations of the level of service and the types of outcomes they want in their lives. they wanted real jobs in their communities. Since then, all of our efforts have been directed to community employment and participation. We have no readiness model where people must wait years to be "ready" to work; we help develop jobs and contracts and participants go to work.
The strain on agencies like ours is growing, as budget cutbacks begin to diminish the quality and intensity of services for our state's most vulnerable citizens. In 1952, families founded InAlliance to meet the needs of their adult children. We hope that today we are fulfilling that expectation and moving beyond it. We continue to rely on the whole community that surrounds people with disabilities, in alliance with the 300 staff who provide thousands of hours of day-to-day support.
